Players of the Week

November 15 , 2008
Brian Boulhosa SE/CB (Archbishop Stepinac)

Boulhosa

Stepinac marches into the AA Championship on the heals of senior Brian Boulhosa's performance against Fordham. Brian scored two touchdowns on three catches. One catch was for 45 yards and the second touchdown catch was a sixty five yarder that put Stepinac ahead. Brian also anchored the defense that permitted only two Fordham receptions.

Terrence Barclay FB/LB (Holy Trinity)

Playing from both sides of the ball Terrence Barclay played a critical role in Holy Trinity's Semi - Final win over Xavier. From his Linebacker position Terrence he had 13 tackles. A the lead blocker Terrence led the way for an offense that rushed for 300 yards. His efforts included 20 yard touchdown run.

Tony Ward KR/CB (Cardinal Spellman)

In Cardinal Spellman's Semi - Final win over Christ the King junior Tony Ward provided the turning point. Just after the Royals scored Tony took the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown. This according to his coaches was the "spark" that sent the Falcon's into their A Championship match against Hayes.

Nick Ferrara K (St. Anthony's)

In the 23 years that Rich Reichert has coached at St. Anthony's he has seen plenty. But in the Semi - Final win over Chaminade he witnessed something for the first time. In a season that has been plagued by injuries to key players it was the effort of the kicker, Nick Ferrara, that Coach Reichert credits with making all the difference. The senior kicked 5 of his 6 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks. This pinned the Chaminade offense deep in its zone. Nick also was 3 for 4 in field goals tries. He missed a 47 yarder but connected from 31, 30 and 23 yards. Nick recently accepted a full scholarship to Maryland University.
